Barring a geographical recreation of Pangaea, those of you who travel to far away destinations likely choose to fly. This may be the quickest route of travel, but it can also be one of the most boring: the in-flight magazines are lousy reading, the alcoholic beverages are costly, and passengers in adjoining seats typically don t want to converse, fearing that they will say the wrong thing and be asked to leave. For all these reasons, the avid travelers among you may often pass the time listening to music. The following is a list of some of the best songs for flying the friendly skies.

The music scene these days is overcrowded with many musicians that do not have very much singing talent at all. The days of pure singers are over, and they are now replaced with many different kinds of sounds that are enhanced and created with sophisticated recording equipment.

Even when you go to see a musical act in concert, chances are the singer s voice and/or music in general is prerecorded. Then the singer just lip syncs the words and many people never know the difference. What ever happened to singers like Elton John, Sting, and Celine Dion? Now we have to listen to Kevin Federline, Kelly Osborne, and man-made bands like 98 degrees. However there are

a few musicians that are still putting out very good music, and are still quite popular. Josh Groban is a wonderful singer and he has a different sound.

Anybody can argue about who’s the best at any particular occupation. The all time “best” lists are in no way either right or wrong. But they sure are a lot of fun to come up with. People love lists. They love to see what other people think so that they can send in letters and emails arguing with those lists.

Well, according to almost every list ever made, from TV Guide, to Entertainment Weekly, to you name it, the most popular, if not the greatest singer of all time, was Bing Crosby. Crosby had no less that 383 songs in the top 30 during his lifetime, including 41 number 1 hits. Crosby had a one

of a kind voice that simply dominated the music scene from 1931 to 1954. His biggest hit of all time was “White Christmas”, which radio stations still play today when Christmas time comes around. Not only was it Crosby’s biggest hit but it was the biggest selling single of all time. It was number one on the charts for an amazing 14 weeks. There is no artist that has come even close to Crosby’s popularity, not even the man most lists have at number 2.

In this article we’re going to briefly review the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert which was held at Wembley’s Stadium in London.

Freddie Mercury was not just the heart and soul or the rock group Queen, he was Queen. When he died from complications of AIDS on November 24, 1991, the world lost one of the truly unique and great singers.

When Queen first hit the scene in the mid 70s they had a cult following at best. Their music was quite different from anything that had come along until then. Their harmonic vocals, led by Mercury’s over the top solos, made them a group that sooner or later had to get noticed. And while it took years for

them to reach the peak of their popularity, once they made it they were one of the biggest groups of the era.

Musical soundtracks became very popular in the 1940s through 1960s, around the same time musicals became worldwide hits. Moviegoers flocked to see screen-based adaptations of popular stage plays, which were perceived to be more accessible than their Broadway counterparts. This trend seems to be resurging, with the success of such Hollywood musicals as Moulin Rouge and Chicago.

What’s in a musical soundtrack? First, the title song. Most musicals have titles that are based on their main song. For example, the musical “The Sound of Music” is titled after the song of the same title. The same is true for “Jesus Christ Superstar,” which also had a song with the same title.
